I love a good color story...and Courtney & Brandon pulled off the most alluring minty green inspired day. Their natural woodland details, bright florals by Angela Bramante at Drinkwater Design and charming historic location caught my fancy. I also felt a little like I was walking into a 1960´s movie set...complete with Woody Allen vinyl groomsmen gifts, Beatles-eque sharp looking suits (and hair cuts), and swing skirt wedding dress. But it felt fresh and modern too--they sampled that vintage era and made it their own.
And let me tell you, these two can rock too.
They did something I´ve never seen at a wedding (and that is kinda saying something since I´ve photographed over 400)--they had a classic open mic night at the last hour of their soiree. Brandon´s mom got up and sang the sweetest version of I Hope You Dance. The groom did a spontaneous drum riff for one his groomsmen´s tunes, and lastly, the bride sang and strummed on her banjo. Blew everybody in the room away. Hope you enjoy all the the fetching moments and details of their day. Congratulations Courtney & Brandon.
PS..I almost broke my server uploading all the images from this wedding--I couldn´t help it! They had such a wonderful day...what can I say?

I loved everything about this couple and this easy, breezy, beautiful wedding day in Kennebunkport. Kim & Paul were super laid back and seemed to enjoy every minute, including the one hour Harbor Tour aboard The Pineapple Ketch. The pretty pink and taupe palette felt so natural yet elegant. Kids were a big part of the day too--and we had fun capturing all the fun. It shows when a couple really plans the day they want...your guests will love it whether it´s a breezy daytime event, or an all night party...Kim and Paul had their stamp of approval on every detail. Congrats Kim & Paul!

Sarah & Ben had a whirlwind wedding day--literally--there was a classic early June Nor´Easter that lasted the entire weekend. But we invited the storm to the party and didn´t skip a beat. I´ve been DYING to blog this wedding--but I was waiting for it to be published in WellWed magazine--so I´m very excited to be sharing all the glorious details today.
Sandy Island holds a very special place in Sarah´s past--she and her family spent every Summer camping here. And for that, and many other reasons, this wedding was memorable...the primitive private island setting, the enchanting woodland details, the natural palette, the quaker wedding ceremony--all of it came together so beautifully. Kate Parker and her team didn´t miss a thing and welcomed all the guests in a warm island style. And how about that dessert spread by the uber talented Erin Gardner of Wild Orchid Baking!? It was truly spectacular.
I hope you enjoy all the wonderful details and get some inspiration for your own private oasis wedding. Congrats to Sarah & Ben--who, by the way, just welcomed their first child to the world. I´m sure the newest addition will be spending time enjoying Sandy Island someday too.

Loved this wedding and this couple! We danced all around Harvard Yard and hit all the cool hotspots in Boston without missing a beat (thanks to the great planning by the bride--we even had our own Uber fleet of cars at beck and call). This wedding had a ton of fun details and dress changes due to the Pakistani meets New Englander theme--but it all worked together so seamlessly and felt (and looked, I think!) very fun. Congrats to Nosheen & Ben--we wish them well as the head off to their residencies in Philadelphia.

Chris & Diana had a beautiful day back in April at The Portsmouth Country Club. We loved their pink cherry blossom infused details and palette. Thought I would share a little reminder of crisp New England Spring on this hot July day. Congratulations Chris & Diana!

Island weddings in Maine are some of my favorites--especially when they come together as perfectly as Isabel & Mike´s day did. The guests were all enchanted by this quaint private island and it´s charms...not to mention the lupines were in full bloom everywhere--a real treat. Heather Quinn Cuzzi of Cairn Events wove together beautiful floral and reception details that felt both elegant and modern--French Country meets coastal, breezy Maine--but full of personal touches by the bride and groom. I hope you enjoy a sneak peek into their day. Congratulations Isabel & Mike!

Sunny and happy yellow backyard wedding at the home of the couple in York Maine. We did portraits at Josias River Farm--Richard and Nancy were so accomodating, and the grounds and barn were immaculate as usual. I loved all the little details of their day...and the food truck catering was icing on the top.
Congrats Megan & Willis! Wendy and I really enjoyed capturing your sweet wedding day!

Michelle Rose of Blooms, Laura Pope and I designed a seasonally inspired 4 part wedding series inspired by traditions and patterns of Scandinavia. We starting calling it "Greenlandia"--party as a joke and play on my favorite show "Portlandia." But name stuck, and we embraced it.
Part fairy tale, part history, part New England...we wanted a very modern yet romantic look, but with a nostalgic nod at the very ancient past.
Mary Jo Brown and company at Seacoast Weddings Magazine featured the entire series together in a 16 page feature for their stunning 2014 magazine. We were so thrilled!
I thought I would show each season it´s in glorious details and design and location throughout the year. All of our wedding creatives worked so hard on each shoot too--I am so grateful for their design, amazing talents, and tremendous effort on each shoot.
Hope you enjoy it as much we did.
